Farmworker Association fighting for justice
The topic of poverty and economic injustice is discussed time and time again in both the Old and New Testaments. Interfaith Worker Justice promotes biblical ideals of social justice. The Chapel is a member of IWJ.
Frances Perkins, Secretary of Labor and the first woman to hold a Cabinet post in the United States, was a social reformer who advocated a variety of liberal causes in the interest of workers, including social security, unemployment compensation, minimum wage and maximum hours, and child welfare legislation. A true Labor Day advocate!
